MVA with entrapment

 April 9, 2016

15:35 – The Millstone Township Fire Department was dispatched to Interstate 195, MM 16.2 Eastbound, for a motor vehicle accident.  Utility 3286 (South) arrived to find a single vehicle off the roadway, one subject entrapped, one subject ejected and third subject with minor injuries.  Chief Carbin (3266) arrived and assumed command.  Telesqurt 3290 and Rescue 3285 arrived, stretched an 1.75″ hose line for fire protection and stabilized the vehicle.  The passenger side door and the roof were removed with hydraulic rescue tools and a sawzall.  Assistance was given to EMS with patient removal and packaging.  Additional units on scene included Engine 54-11 (Jackson Mills), MONOC Paramedics, Quality EMS and Roosevelt EMS.  The accident was investigated by the New Jersey State Police.

MVA with entrapment

15:25 – The Millstone Township Fire Department was dispatched to 455 Stagecoach Road for a motor vehicle accident, car versus pole.  Telesqurt 3290 (Maloney) arrived to find a single vehicle versus pole with the driver entrapped.  The telesqurt crew initiated patient care and stretched a 1.75″ for fire protection.  Rescue 3285 and Deputy Chief Wagner (3267) arrived on scene.  The vehicle was stabilized with wooden cribbing and both drivers side doors and the B post were removed using hydraulic extrication tools.  Firefighters assisted EMS with patient removal and packaging.  The patient was transported to Centrastate Medical Center by the Roosevelt First Aid Squad and MONOC Paramedics.

Motor vehicle accident with entrapment

 April 6, 2016

At 11:43 the Millstone Township Fire Department was dispatched to the intersection of Stagecoach Road and Stillhouse Road for a motor vehicle accident.  Telesqurt 3290 (Maloney) arrived to find a two vehicle accident with one driver entrapped.  Command was established, the crew stretched an 1.75″ hand line for protection and initiated patient care.  Once Rescue 3285 arrived the vehicle was stabilized and firefighters placed hydraulic extrication tools into service.  A “drivers side tear” was performed, removing both doors and the B post.  The crew assisted EMS with patient removal.  This driver was transported to Centrastate Medical Center by the Millstone Township First Aid Squad.  The Roosevelt First Aid Squad and the New Jersey State Police were also scene.

Overturned vehicle with entrapment

 April 2, 2016

At 15:58 the Millstone Township Fire Department was dispatched to the intersection of Sweetmans Lane and Stillhouse Road for an overturned vehicle with entrapment.  Engine 3275 (Maloney) arrived to find a two vehicle accident with an SUV overturned onto its roof.  The passenger was found to be entrapped in the vehicle.  The vehicle was stabilized, several nearby tree branches were cleared and the passenger door was removed with hydraulic rescue tools.  Firefighters assisted EMS with removing the passenger who was transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center by Millstone EMS and MONOC Paramedics.  Rescue 3285, Utility 3288 and Monroe EMS was also on scene.  The accident was investigated by the New Jersey State Police.

Overturned vehicle with entrapment

 February 29, 2016

At 06:40 the Millstone Township Fire Department was dispatched to 525 Stagecoach Road for an overturned vehicle.  Engine 3275 (Maloney) arrived to find a small car overturned onto it’s roof after striking a tree.  The driver was found to be entrapped in the wreckage.  An engine from Hope Fire Company (Station 82-1) was also requested.  The engine crew began stabilizing the vehicle with the Junkyard Dog Struts.  Chief Carbin arrived and assumed command.  The engine crew began to remove the drivers door as Rescue 3285 (J.Wagner) arrived to assist.  The two crews removed both front doors and the driver was extricated and turned over to EMS.  Assistance was provided from Engine 8282 at the scene.
