pAt 2203 Millstone Fire and First Aid was dispatched to 67 Stagecoach Road for a reported structure fire.nbsp Chief Ed Reed 3266 went in service immediately asking for additional information.nbsp Monmouth Fire Alarm reported multiple calls coming in stating flames showing.nbsp With the frigid temperatures and confirmed fire Chief Reed upgraded the box to a 2nd alarm.nbsp Upon arrival heavy fire was showing on all sides prompting 3266 for a third alarm.nbsp 3290 arrived on scene with orders to stretch a 2 12 to side C and set up for exterior operations.nbsp A second 1 34 line was stretched to the C side for additional suppression.nbsp Arriving Mutual Aid included 16-1 Freehold Independent 15-1 Freehold Boro RIT 26-2 Manalapan 54 Jackson Mills 57 Applegarth and 82-1 Allentown.nbsp The fire was brought under control with in 45 minutes with units on scene for 2 hours due to extensive overhaul and very cold conditions.nbsp A total of 22000 gallons of water was used to extinguish the fire.nbsp Thank you to our Mutual Aid companies for their response in what was a very cold evening.p
The Millstone Township Fire Company has been selected to receive the William H. Spurgeon III award. This award is presented by the Monmouth County Boy Scouts of America to individuals or organizations contributing significant leadership to the Exploring program.Explorer Post 321 which exists within the Millstone Township Fire Company currently has 12 active members and was established in 2003. Explorer Post 321 makes a difference in the lives of the youth and adult leaders helps Monmouth County deliver a quality experience to thousands of youth families leaders.Since the inception of this program 7 Explorers went on to be active firefighters within the Millstone Township Fire Company.The fire company will recieve the award at an upcoming Monmouth Council Annual Recognitition Dinner which will be held on Thursday June 19th 2008 at the the Buttonwood Manor in Matawan NJ.
