On October 6th 2016 at 08:19, the Millstone Township Fire Department was dispatched to MM 9 Westbound on Interstate 195, Upper Freehold Township, for an overturned vehicle. Engine 8281 arrived to find no entrapment. Rescue 3285 (Maloney) arrived and assisted with lane blockage and traffic control until being released by command.
On October 1st 2016 at 07:40 the Millstone Township Fire Department was dispatched to the intersection of Stagecoach Road and Stillhouse Road for a motor vehicle accident. Engine 3275 (Maloney) arrived to find a two car motor vehicle accident with a total of 4 injuries. The engine began triage and patient care. Rescue 3285 (Fiore) arrived and assisted with a fluid spill and traffic control. The injured patients were transported by Millstone First Aid, Freehold First Aid and Englishtown-Manalapan First Aid to Centrastate Medical Center.
Tuesday evening members from the Millstone Township Fire Company sharpened their skills on motor vehicle extrication. The scenario has 2 vehicles with side impact and overturn. Members need to secure the scene, stabilize vehicles, assess potential patient injury, extricate patient(s) and turn over to EMS all in a matter of minutes. Constant practice on extrication and all facets of Fire/EMS is critical to successful outcomes.
The Millstone Township Fire Department was dispatched as part of the initial assignment for a smell of smoke in the residence at 71 Yellow Meeting House Road Upper Freehold Township. Engine 3275 South arrived first due with a 1.5 story dwelling smoke showing on side B. The engine crew stretched a line to interior and located a fire in the attic. As the crew was beginning to open up and attack the fire a smoke explosion occurred causing the side D attic wall to collapse from the residence. The engine crew held their position and knocked the bulk of the fire down assisted by Engine 8281 Upper Freehold and Truck 3915 Plumsted. Tankers 3296 and 3295 arrived and assumed water supply. Additional units operating included Engine 54 Jackson Mills Tanker 8296 Tanker 3918 and Engine 19 Hamilton 9 as the RIT.
