On Thursday October 6th, our Junior Firefighters joined other surrounding departments at the Monmouth County Fire Academy for a hands on night of skill practice. Our Junior progam is designed for those students between the ages of 16 – 18 looking to give back to the community as well as looking towards a possible career in Emergency Management whether it be career or volunteer. We have a young crew that is highly motivated and will possibly join the department upon their 18th birthday.
On October 6th 2016 at 08:19, the Millstone Township Fire Department was dispatched to MM 9 Westbound on Interstate 195, Upper Freehold Township, for an overturned vehicle. Engine 8281 arrived to find no entrapment. Rescue 3285 (Maloney) arrived and assisted with lane blockage and traffic control until being released by command.
On October 1st 2016 at 07:40 the Millstone Township Fire Department was dispatched to the intersection of Stagecoach Road and Stillhouse Road for a motor vehicle accident. Engine 3275 (Maloney) arrived to find a two car motor vehicle accident with a total of 4 injuries. The engine began triage and patient care. Rescue 3285 (Fiore) arrived and assisted with a fluid spill and traffic control. The injured patients were transported by Millstone First Aid, Freehold First Aid and Englishtown-Manalapan First Aid to Centrastate Medical Center.
On Saturday October 1st with overcast skies the Millstone Township Fire Company hosted its first Touch-A-Truck event. While anxious, looking like rain the weather held out and residents soon came out. With a host of large trucks on hand from:
Waste Management, Clayton Concrete, Paul Signs, Harter Equipment, Peterbilt, NJ Forest Fire, NJ State Police
Vesuvios Pizza, Millstone First Aid, Millstone DPW and the Millstone Fire Company
Our young kids had the opportunity to climb on the equipment while asking questions and just have fun. Special thanks to all who participated and be on the look out for a bigger event next year!!!
