Thursday evening at 2154 the Millstone Emergency Squad and Millstone Fire Company was dispatched to an MVA with possible entrapment. 32-66 Chief Jim Carbin arrived on scene to find a 2 vehicle MVA with 1 confirmed entrapment. Rescue 32-85 and Engine 32-76 arrived and immediately went to work. A medivac unit was called due to injuries sustained. An 1 34 hand line was pulled for protection while crews began extrication. Lt. Alan South and Captain John Fiore ordered a rapid take down as the patient was becoming increasingly unstable. Once extricated crews from 32-21 Emergency Squad took over patient care. Deputy Chief Reed and the crew of 32-90 handled the LZ.
Millstone Township Fire and EMS were alerted to a report of a MVA on Rt. 537 and Deer Run Drive with possible entrapment. While fire units were enroute county communications adivsed that an emt was on scene advising one victim confirmed trapped and requesting that a medevac be placed on stand-by. Chief Carbin 3266 arrived on scene with a pick-up truck vs passenger car with the driver of the car heavily trapped. Chief Carbin established 537 command and requested an engine and rescue from Freehold Twp 16-1 mutual aid. Rescue 3285 South arrived and crews led off stabilizing the vehicle and placing the Holmatro Tools in service. Engine 3276 Byrne arrived close behind with the crew strecthing an 1.75 handline for protection. The crew from the rescue removed both doors from the drivers side the roof and utilized the rams to push the dash. The patient was extricated within 18 minutes of arrival. The patient was transported to a landing zone and transported by Northstar Medevac to Jersey Shore. The Landing Zone was handled by an engine from 16-1. EMS personnel treated a total of 4 injuries. Addtional units on scene were Engine 3274 Telesqurt 3290 and Utility 3287.
On Wednesday March 21st at 2303 hours Millstone Township Fire was alerted to a report of a possible chimney fire at Ivy Court. Chief Carbin 3266 arrived on scene and established command. While completing his 360 Chief Carbin informed incoming Telesquirt 3290 of light flame coming from the chimney area on the B side of the dwelling. Upon arrival of 3290 Command ordered the aerial ladder to the chimney with additional ladders to the C side along with one 1 34 hand line. Roof operations opened up the chimney quickly extinguishing all fire. Tanker 3295 arrived and supplied 3290 with a water supply. Additional apparatus assisting were Rescue 3285 engine 3274 and utility 3287.

Millstone Township Fire Company is a combination department with 10 career firefighters providing coverage from 6AM to 6PM 7 days a week. This is supplemented with volunteers during this time along with volunteers handling all calls from 6PM to 6AM 365 days a year. In addition we have an Explorer program consisting of 13 members in which 4 Explorers have recently completed FireFighter 1 and are now full members of the company. We provide mutual aid to our surrounding communities including AllentownUpper Freehold Manalapan Monroe Jackson and Freehold. We have one station located on Stagecoach Road covering almost 40 square miles.
